I had gone back to the RELEASE version, which was updated to 22000.282. Right click the Docker icon in the System Tray, click Settings and select Shared Drives. I have Windows 11 ARM installed (Windows 11 PRO, 21H2, build 22000.282) running under Parallels 17.1.0 (51516) and no issues starting, opening the setting menu or running the limited number of programs and game I have installed. The setting is required for the volume mapping and debugging support. Shared DrivesĪ required configuration is to setup Shared Drives in Docker for Windows. Come to find out it was a few simple configurations.Ĭheck the "Enable nested virtualization" option under Hardware / CPU & Memory - Advanced Settings of your Windows 10 VM.Īnother setting I might suggest is setting the Memory somewhere between 4 - 8 GB of RAM or Docker may not start. We would suggest you to upgrade the current Windows 7 to Windows 10 from the parallels and when you want to switch it back to Boot camp, you have to delete the Parallels and then use Windows 10 in the Boot camp.

The problem: with windows in that state I was not able to shut it down. I understand you are worried about how to migrate the Windows 10 license from Parallels to Boot camp in future. Maybe there is not enough virtual disk space for the updates. The screen just says 191 of 211 updates installed.

Parallels Desktop for Mac is packed with powerful new features for both Apple M1 and Intel chip, must-have performance updates, and fully supports macOS Monterey and Windows 11. I didn't want to fire up the ThinkPad, connect it to the big monitor etc so it was time to get Docker working on Parallels. The problem is that I do not get an error nor am I able to access windows anymore. Since 2006, Parallels Desktop has been a trusted visualization software, touted as a fast, easy, and powerful application for running Windows on an Intel or Apple M1 Mac. The most recent reason is Visual Studio '15 Preview and the new Docker features that are quite awesome. Im going to be out of town for the weekend, start and I get a window saying that my version of Windows is not registered. I use OSX as my primary development machine but still at time run to Visual Studio for work stuff, new features I'm testing etc.
